Do you yearn to feel more positive? Would you like to be a person who sees the glass as half full rather than half empty? Do negative thoughts capsize your mental boat? It’s time to take charge and create more positive thoughts and a better attitude, NOW!

We’ve all heard the saying: “You are what you eat.” Well, that’s not only true physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. If a person eats nothing but junk food, day in and day out, they will inevitably quickly begin to feel the negative effects. They will notice the pounds piling on and they may feel lethargic and sick much of the time. In much the same way, a person who constantly feeds themselves negative thoughts will begin to feel the ill effects. So many of us have learned to allow our thoughts to take us captive, rather than the other way around! Well let me tell you, your thoughts do NOT control you, you are in control of your thoughts. Simply coming to this realization can make all the difference for some people, yet for others once they really get this they then have to take some time and effort to retrain their brain; either way, this is one of the most powerful and profound changes you can make in your life.

So this is the time to go on a diet, a mental diet of positive attitude food. You have to stop fueling your mind with negative thoughts and replace them with more positive, uplifting thoughts. What do negative thoughts look like? They start with “can’t” rather than “can,” “no” as opposed to “yes,” “should” as opposed to “want,” “hate” as opposed to “love.” When you’re not feeling your best, ask yourself – Are the thoughts I’m indulging right now negative or positive? And then adjust them accordingly. It’s a pretty safe bet if your thoughts are making you feel bad, then they’re negative and if they’re energizing you and make you feel good, then they’re positive. If you find yourself brooding over little things like -the things your husband won’t do around the house, worrying about an upcoming test or mulling over all the things you think are wrong with the world today – simply flip your thoughts around.

Change the:

•    “I hate it when he doesn’t take the trash out in the morning!”

TO

•    “I love it when he remembers to take the trash out in the morning!”

————

•    “I should really exercise today, but I hate exercise!”

TO

•    “I want to feel better and look good, so I’m going to exercise today!”

It will take some work at first to train your brain to approach things from a different angle, but before you know it you will automatically start doing it and seeing things in a more positive light and, in turn, feeling better! It really is that simple. A little work will create BIG results! You will begin to notice positive changes taking place in your life. Your family, friends and co-workers will all notice it as well. They may not know exactly what is different about you, but they will notice that something in you has changed for the better and they will love the change!

You can do it. You can and will have a positive attitude if you simply take the steps outlined above. You do not have to live the way you did in the past. Our thoughts are one of the most malleable parts of our lives, it’s quite easy to shift your thoughts, it just takes being present in the moment. Once we get present, we are able to catch ourselves when our thoughts start taking a turn for the worst. A simple cognitive-behavioral strategy really works best when you find your thoughts are turning negative – STOP! Yep, it’s that simple, it’s call ‘thought stopping’ and it works so long as you do it repetitively, kind of like training a puppy. So, each time you bring your awareness into the moment and you don’t like what you find in your head, simply say “Stop!” (I recommend doing this silently, unless you’re alone or simply enjoy freaking people out, then by all means…) and refocus your thoughts to something that feels better. This is basic rules for manifesting a better life. Providing you start taking control of your thoughts, each new day can truly feel like a fresh new start! The choice is yours. You can be a better you – Starting today!

Generating Laser Beams of Love

Throughout my life I have heard, read and studied about the importance of becoming a warm and loving human being.  Below is one of my favorite quotes.

“More valuable than treasures in a storehouse are treasures of the body, and the treasures of the heart are the most valuable of all. Strive to accumulate the treasures of the heart!” Nichiren Daishonin.

This quote from a Buddhist priest and the founder of Nichiren Buddhism, is one example of how developing our hearts and compassion is more important than accumulating material wealth.  This is not unique to Buddhism.  Every religion that I’m aware of has a similar tenet.  Of course, as in all good deeds, knowing something and practicing it are two different things.

I try to be kind, or at least thoughtful.  I open doors for moms with strollers, I let anxious-looking drivers into my lane of traffic, I call friends on their birthdays.  This is small stuff, and certainly does not put me on the same page as Mother Teresa, but it’s a step in the right direction.  However, I had a recent experience that demonstrated just how powerful a little jolt of love can be.

I was babysitting my two grand daughters.  Rosannah is a typical 2-year-old bursting with energy, laced with a tad of toddler defiance.  Briannah, at 10 months, has learned to crawl and is hell bent on exploring everywhere her little hands and knees will take her.

It was getting late and I was running out of ideas.  I had played games and watched Baby Einstein with my grand daughters and made sure they were clean, fed and diapered.   When I have the girls over, they get my complete attention, a luxury most parents can’t afford.  But I had played “peek a boo” enough times that I was too pooped to peek a second longer.

I was lying on the guest bed with the girls.  Rosannah was also tired and I was hoping that if we all lay down together she would sleep.  It had been a long day for the little two-year-old.  She is in a transitional stage in her life.  She has some autonomy, but not a lot.  And most of the things she wants to do get her in a lot of trouble.  She sees her younger sister, still very much a baby who likes to be held, given a bottle, and rocked to sleep.  I can imagine that a part of Rosannah wants that, but she probably feels she is too big for such coddling.  Even at such a young age I can sense she is torn between being a baby and being a “big girl”.

Of course she talks and sings and can do a lot of things her younger sister cannot, and she gets kudos for it.  I have her trained that when I say, “Who’s the greatest!?” she responds with an enthusiastic “Grandma!”  She also knows I enjoy hearing her count, sing Old MacDonald has a farm, and laugh at my Donald Duck sneeze.  She gets positive feedback for performing, as do adults.

As Rosannah took her “blankie” and curled up in a corner of the bed I looked at the sleepy child.  My heart filled with so much love.  Briannah was still crawling around the bed, so I had to keep a vigilant watch to keep her from tumbling onto the floor.  But in a moment (and it truly was only a moment) I let my heart fill with love and directed it at the sleepy Rosannah as she lay in the bed.  I didn’t say anything.  I channeled the love I felt and sent it to her like an emerald green laser beam.  At that moment, and without prompting from me, she took my hand and brought it up to her heart. I have no doubt she felt my love and responded in kind.

I later thought, “Why am I saving these bursts of love?  Why can’t I take a moment, relax and fill my heart with love and send it out to more often?  For that matter, why do I have to limit it to members of my family?”

So I began directing little laser beams of love to others.  I shoot it out to folks when I stand in line at the grocery store.  I transmitted it over the phone to my friend recovering from surgery. I even launched twin lasers of compassion to the couple who sat in front of me at the movie theater (and thankfully they relaxed in their seat and slumped enough that I could see the movie without difficulty.)

I have to admit that I have to take a moment to generate this loving energy.  My heart responds a little slower than my brain.  I have to pause a moment, let my heart fill with love, then zap.  Nobody knows I’m doing this.  Yet I can tell it has a powerful impact.  Don’t take my word for it.  Try it yourself.

We are facing a tough economic crisis and many of us may not have the time or money to help all the charities and organizations who need our generosity, but all of us can afford to take a moment, relax and send some love out to someone – anyone.

I will end with this great quote from Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare.

“How far that little candle throws his beams!
So shines a good deed in a naughty world.”

How to take care of your camcorder batteries Lenovo Coupons

There are three kinds of camcorder batteries. The three classes are Lead-Acid, Lithium-Ion and all others (Nicad, Nickel Metal Hydride (Zero Memory), etc.) You are basically stuck with the type your camera is designed and supplied with.

Camcorder Batteries for most models of camcorder

Camcorder batteries are specifically designed for each camcorder brand and model. aussie-battery.com offers a complete line of camcorder batteries and compatible replacements for most camcorders, such as JVC, CANON, Sony, Panasonic and more. All our camcorder batteries must pass stringent quality control tests that ensure they will work with your camcorder. That’s why we guarantee our camcorder batteries for 1 year – and why we offer a 30-day money-back refund on every camcorder battery we sell.

Because of the lack of information on Lithium Ion in regards specifically to camcorder batteries, this article will only adress the more popular Nicad,Nickel Metal Hydride and Lead acid types. When more data is available it will be posted. Please check back occasionally.

The easiest and most reliable battery is the Lead-Acid variety. This battery is basically the same as the one in your car and requires the same treatment. Always keep it fully charged! There is no need for discharging prior to recharge. Most chargers continue to charge after charge lights extinguish. Occasionally batteries may need to spend up to 24 hours on a charger to regain a maximum charge. There is no need to fear overcharging as chargers as usually contain safety circuitry to prevent excess heat buildup. Also most batteries are internally thermally fused to prevent meltdown and acid leakage.

NiCad or Nickel Cadmium and Nickel Metal Hydride batteries require more attention than Lead-Acid. These are the same batteries found in cordless phones. These batteries need to be fully discharged after use to promote long life. Do not short or drain to a 0 volts condition as this may damage the pack. Usually running a camera until it powers down from low battery a couple times will sufficiently drain a NiCad. A full charge cycle with extra time overnight if possible will allow a trickle charge to complete charging. Always store these units in a discharged condition and charge before use. A battery that has developed a shortened run time is said to have developed a memory. This is caused by a buildup in the battery that shorts around or bypasses storage area inside the battery. Repeated discharge and recharge cycles can in some cases return battery volume.
Always remember that a deeply used or discharged battery may need more than one trip on charger. Also, chargers will run for a set period of time or until a certain level of heat is obtained. After this high charge cycle a continuing trickle charge cycle will slowly ‘top off’ the battery to its full potential.

In addition to this, there are different manufactures cells that are used to make Nicad or Nickel Metal Hydride camcorder batteries. The cells will vary from Sanyo, Panasonic,(Everedy)Energizer, Duracell,Toshiba and various other manufactures in china. The batteries quality will differ from manufacture to manufacture but it may not be realized until the end of its life cycle. In other words you should not be able to tell the difference between brands unless the battery pack is either old or used. An important thing to be aware of is that some places will sell you a battery pack that is already 2 or 3 years old. You should ask when the pack was manufactured (Within reason. Approx. 2~3 months) because age will effect performance and longevity. A typical consumer averages about 1~2 years on a camcorder battery and yes you should be taking the batteries out of the camcorder when not in use.

Developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui, Reiki is a spiritual practice that started life as a technique called palm healing. Using various symbols Reiki practitioners can transfer healing energy in the form of ki through their palms. It is now an accepted form of complementary and alternative medicine.

There are three main levels or degrees of Reiki. The First Degree is used to heal the self and others. The Second Degree is used for distant healing. The Third Degree or Master/Teacher is used to teach and attune others to Reiki.

The traditional way of learning Reiki involves the student being given the First symbol, usually Cho Ku Rei. The student will then spend weeks (at the very least) practising drawing, chanting and channelling this symbol. When the master is happy that the student is strong enough in the Cho Ku Rei energy he will then give the Second symbol, probably Sei Hei Ki. Once again the student will have to spend weeks practising drawing, chanting and channelling this symbol. This same process would also be used for the Third symbol, usually Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen. Once the student has mastered these basic symbols they would then move on to practising healing others.

The student would experience Cho Ku Rei being most effective for physical healing, Sei Hei Ki best for emotional healing, and Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen best for mind or mental healing (also known as distant healing) for people far away,.

A typical Reiki treatment will begin with the Reiki practitioner instructing the recipient to lie down and relax usually on a massage table. To calm themselves in preparation for the treatment the practitioner will usually meditate.

The treatment proceeds with the practitioner placing their hands on various parts of the recipient’s body using the various symbols to channel healing energy. Practitioners can also use a non-touching method of healing where the hands are held a few inches away from the body.

Reiki can also be used for distant healing using symbols like Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen. With permission from the recipient the practitioner will calm themselves as if the recipient were in the room with them and then, while holding the intention of healing the recipient, channel the distant healing energy.

As long as you have a computer with an internet connection and the time to study Reiki techniques can easily be practised and learned at home. Reiki master Robert Bourne has written three books about learning Reiki and has now made the accompanying audio CD’s and video DVD’s available for free. Please see the links below for more information.

Surfing the internet nowadays is rather like standing in front of a fire hose. More often than not, you’re likely to be inundated with information – and that may be fun at the time, but good luck trying to remember exactly what you had read even a week ago.

And this is particularly painful if you happen to be researching upon a topic, and desperately need that really informative piece – but you cannot, for the life of you, remember which site it was one. Bookmarks are a reasonable solution, but they can quickly become unwieldy.

Personally, I prefer to email important stuff to myself. Most modern email systems allow you to search emails, and that powerful feature is precisely what I use every time I want to ferret out that crucial link.

Here’s how it works. Say, for example, I just read a wonderful essay about Roger Federer, the tennis player. The author happens to be David Foster Wallace, and what really strikes me about the piece is its length, and the comparisons made between tennis and art. In that case, I write an email to myself, with the link inside it. I will also add the following (seemingly nonsensical) sentence “Roger Federer, by David Foster Wallace – really long piece about Federer, tennis, sports, art”

And the next time I need to refer to that article, I don’t need to run futile and frustrating online searches. All I need to do is go to my inbox, and search for tennis, or Federer or long piece AND tennis.
More often than not, I end up finding precisely what I want, and far faster than I would otherwise. This really works if you happen to read a lot on the internet, as I tend to. But even if you don’t, I suspect you will find that this method works far more effectively than any other.

Another advantage is the fact that you can usually access your inbox irrespective of whichever computer you are working upon – bookmarks are usually tied down to a particular computer.
All said and done, do give this method a try – I think you’ll find it very useful!

Shyness is cute in really young children – just watch all the mothers crooning over their shy babies. But in later life, shyness can be a curse. Check out these essential tips to cure your shyness.

1. Build up your self confidence

One of the main reasons people are shy is that they lack confidence in themselves. Work on building up your confidence – start with a few small things that you’ve done in the past and do them on a slightly bigger scale – and build up. Confidence is contagious, so there’s a good chance you’ll find that working on the small stuff automatically makes the bigger stuff easier to work on.

2. Step out of your comfort zone

There’s nothing like being thrown in at the deep end to provoke a sink-or-swim response. But, as with your confidence, it’s better to slowly move outside your comfort zone. Maybe start by speaking to someone who’s a semi-stranger – you recognize them from somewhere in the office but you’ve never spoken face to face. Then work your way up. Slow but steady wins the race here – you don’t want to step so far out of your comfort zone that you turn yourself into an instant recluse with your reaction.

3. Smile!

Smiling is quite disarming. It breaks down barriers in ways that almost nothing else can. In fact, if you smile more often, there’s a good chance that other people will approach you because you look friendly and helpful. Capitalize on this and make it part of your regular routine to smile often.

“When a man is willing and eager, the gods join in.”- Aeschylus
Besides the quote above from a noted Greek philosopher, one of my other favorites is “The harder I work, the more lucky I get.” They both basically say the same thing: the universe will conspire to assist you when it notices that you have taken your destiny into your own hands.
Practically every belief system on earth believes in this principle. Ever heard anybody say “God helps those who help themselves”? Same thing.
A lot of it also comes down to a relationships between timing and preparation. There is a constant and steady flow of opportunity all around you. It has always been and will always be. To a large degree, success comes to those who are ready and prepared for it when it comes there way.
If you would look into your own past, I’m sure that you will remember times when amazing opportunities were literally at your dorstep. Yet, you could not take advantage of them because you were not prepared with what was needed to participate. Either you lacked money, time, information, or some other resource.
The more diligently you work on one focused area of achievement you will set in motion a process of becoming more and more prepared to be able to take advantage of opportunities that will present themselves in the area of achievement that you are working in.
So, you want more “luck”? Or if you don’t believe in luck, are you looking more favor? Then get to work! To your pleasant surprise, you may look up one day to discover that someone besides just you has also joined in to help you achieve what you are after.

“Unless you change how you are,you will always have what you’ve got.”- Jim Rohn

Would you like to know what one of the BEST thing about becoming wealthy is? The person who you become in the process! The whole purpose behind the multi-million dollar mindset is to assist you in this process.
Before you start your busy week, I want you to meditate on those things in your life that you would like to change and improve.
Then, instead of getting into thinking about what you need to DO to turn them around, I want you to instead really be honest with yourself and ponder what kind of person have you been BEING that may have attracted these circumstances to you?
This may be a familiar concept to you. Or, it may be entirely new. If it is new to you, let me explain just what I mean by focus on who you are BEING.
You see, everything that you do and ultimately become is a function of your mindset. The biggest difference between those who are extremely successful and those who are not is that successful people simply think much differently than everyone else. They have a unique way of viewing the world that is common among others like them and quite alien to everyone else.
Begin to influence yourself into taking on the worldview and thought process of those whose accomplishments you would like to see realized in your own life. The Multi-Million Dollar Mindset CD set is a great start. There are also tons of other great audio sets and books that you can invest in for the same purpose. Ultimately Y will want to connect with one or more mentors who can consistently pour their philosophy into you.
First, identify the people who you’d like to emulate and the end result in life that you would like to attain. Write it all down, then next to each one right what kind of TRANSFORMATION you will need to make in who you are BEING in the matter in order to transform your negative or lackluster situation into a much better one.

“Happiness is not an accident. Nor is it something you wish for.Happiness is something you design.”- Jim Rohn
One of the most damaging things that I feel is done to people in this society is for them to have “happiness” defined FOR them based on what is suggested in the media or by friends and family. There is so much pressure to consume “things” or to have a certain amount of “status” based on money.
There is a direct sales company that I was involved in for a while during my entrepreneurial infancy that really impressed me with the way they dealt with this topic. On their recruitment video, instead of showing pictures of exotic Italian cars and mansions, they showed footage of a happy family of 4 washing their Honda together. Then another image showed proud parents standing next to a college graduate.
Look, I’m not saying that its “bad” to want lots of money…or even to want very nice things. I’m a Maseratti kinda guy myself lol. What I am, saying though  is to never allow anyone else to define what happiness should be for YOU.
I suggest that you take some time out, brew a hot cup of java or tea, and literally write down YOUR vision of what happiness looks like for you. Then create a dream board about YOUR happiness, and experience the powerful inspiration that you will feel in working to maintain it.
Wealth is largely a by-product of the mind, remember? That means that you have the power to create, to design. Always remember that the reason why we build wealth is not for the “things” or the “status”, but the privilege to truly lives our lives by our own design. This is an AMAZING opportunity that 99.99% of people will never get to experience, and you are working on it this very moment.
Isn’t that exciting? Revel in that excitement!

Spring is a excellent time of year for decluttering your space! Is it possible that you may have a space which is chock full of clutter? Is it a space or room that you hate to even enter? Perhaps that is your dedicated junk room and you literally keep the door shut. Perhaps it is your garage. Perhaps it is your bedroom and you are drowning in clutter almost all the time.

Clutter can place you in a negative mood, but an organized space will make your energy soar. Occasionally the mess can be so awful that you have to attack it by taking one area at a time. You take simply one component of the mess and work on that, so you can see improvement, instead of getting overwhelmed. Here are some tips to start with:

Begin with your clothing.

Assume it is your bed room that is a problem. You need your clothing and if your clothes are in order, not only will you really feel much better, your wardrobe will seem to have tripled. As soon as you deal with the clothes, you will have considerably reduced the clutter in the room.

Clothes in this situation consist of anything made of fabric, such as bath towels, bedding, table linens, draperies, and so forth. As you can see, working with the clothes can turn into a huge job. But if you just focus on the fabrics for right now, it does make your decluttering job simpler.

So today, in your junk room, wherever that is, disregard every thing else other than the clothing! Look at every item to see what it requires washing, dry cleaning, ironing, or just hanging up or putting away. Not enough places to put clothing away? Then choose to get rid of some, or get a double-hanger for your closet. If you get rid of as much as you can, you will have simplified your life.

If you are preoccupied today, then give this job what ever time you have. You will see improvement. Commit to 10 minutes per day to deal with clothes until it becomes a routine. You will feel so proud of your closets – in no time!
